I have successfully done this before. Thanks for the article!. But I ran into a problem where the "Power Management" settings of the network card would be reset on every reboot so that "Only allow management stations to bring the computer out of standby" would be checked. This was no good. I discovered after booting into safe mode that disabling the "Wired Autoconfig" system service solved this problem, and waking up works as it should.

Once I was able to get the keyboard and mouse working again by unplugging the USB cable and connecting it to a different port, but mostly this doesn&#039t work. It&#039s a recent motherboard with Intel Z68 chipset, and I&#039ve already installed the latest drivers for it.

I didn&#039t know I had to turn off the norton security so I was told by the software&#039s support that it may have caused problems with the program and to remove it and reinstall it but I waited too long and when I went to remove it and re-download it the program said the trial had expired and so I again emailed the support team and they said to remove it from the registry and re-download it. Any idea how I can do that without having to pay the best buy geek squad $50 to do it for me ?
